  • Is there mobile network connectivity?
Network connectivity can be intermittent or unavailable at the campsite and waterfall locations, allowing for a true digital detox.
  • What is the "Leave No Trace" policy?
We strongly believe in responsible tourism. Our "Leave No Trace" policy means we carry back all waste, respect the environment, and leave the locations exactly as we found them. Participants are encouraged to help with a brief cleanup effort.
  • Is it safe for solo trekkers, especially women?
Yes, absolutely! EcoHikes prioritizes safety. Our small group sizes, experienced guides (including Wilderness First Responders), and separate tent sharing for men and women ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone, including solo female trekkers.
  • What is EcoHikes' policy on responsible trekking?
We are deeply committed to responsible tourism. We choose lesser-known trails to avoid overcrowding, emphasise leaving no trace, respect local cultures, and strongly request our participants to help us maintain the secrecy and sanctity of these pristine locations.

  • EcoHikes talks about "responsible adventure." What does that mean for this trek?
It means a lot to us! We try to pick trails that aren't overcrowded so you can truly connect with nature. We ask everyone who treks with us to be mindful, leave no trace, and help us keep these beautiful, lesser-known spots a secret. It’s about enjoying the mountains while making sure they stay just as lovely for everyone who comes after.
  • What kind of accommodation is provided?
We will be camping in tents (2 or 3-person sharing, separate for men and women) at a scenic viewpoint on the mountain. We provide trekking mattresses; you'll need to bring your personal blanket and an air pillow if preferred.
  • What are the toilet facilities like during the camp?
We arrange separate, private "blindspot" areas for men and women for washroom needs. Extra water will be provided at the campsite for basic requirements. We encourage eco-friendly practices.
  • What type of food can I expect on the trek?
We provide simple, wholesome, and hygienic vegetarian meals. * Day 1: Breakfast (Idly/Dosa on the way), Lunch (Veg Biryani by the stream), Dinner (Chapati with Veg Curry at campsite). * Day 2: Breakfast (Maggie & Multi-grain Bread Sandwich at campsite), Lunch (Traditional Veg Tribal Meals at the village).

This trek is considered easy to moderate. Day 1 involves about 4km of trekking (approx. 3 hours), and Day 2 includes a 2km ascent to the peak, followed by a 7km descent. It's great for beginners with a basic fitness level. A few 2km walks prior to the trek will help you enjoy it comfortably.

We arrange transport from Visakhapatnam and back in vehicles suitable for the terrain, like 12/17 seater Tempo Travellers or Taveras for smaller groups, as larger vehicles can't access the last village.

A detailed list is provided in the PDF and upon booking.
  • What is the best time to do the Jindhagada trek?
The Eastern Ghats are beautiful post-monsoon (July to March) when the landscape is lush and green, and the weather is pleasant. However, we operate treks considering the best and safest conditions.
  • How tough is this Galikonda trek, really?
We like to call it "moderate" with a dash of adventure! The path is mostly gradual, but because it's not a marked trail and we cross a few valleys, it feels like a good, satisfying challenge. If you do some regular walking or have a bit of fitness, you'll enjoy it! If you're unsure, just give us a call!
  • Tell me about the camping – what’s it like?
We camp in a really beautiful spot near water stream. We’ll provide tents that you’ll share with two other trekkers (don’t worry, separate tents for guys and girls ). You’ll also get a comfy trekking mattress. Just bring your own blanket or sleeping bag. For nature’s calls, we found few private "blindspot" areas.
  • The trail is "not marked" – is that okay for someone like me?
That’s where the adventure comes in, and also where we come in! While it means it's not a paved path, it also means we get to explore places away from the crowds. Our guides are experts in these hills, with 8 years of experience here. We know these trails, and we always have certified Wilderness First Responders with us. We keep the groups small so we can all look out for each other.
  • Can I drive my own car?
You sure can! You can either drive your own vehicle right to the base village, or you can meet us at our spot in Vizag and follow our 9-seater Thavera or 12 Seater vehicle.
  • How many people will be on the trek with me?
We like to keep things personal and friendly, so we host tiny groups – usually just 8 to 12 people. This way, everyone gets to connect, and it’s a safer and happier experience for all.
