Itinerary
Our Little Adventure Plan: Your 2-Day Galikonda Itinerary
Day 1: Into the Green & Camping by the Stream
Morning Vibes: We’ll all meet up at Hanumanthuwaka in Vizag – think excited faces and a shared thrill for what’s ahead! Grab some breakfast with us on the way as we journey (about 3 hours) to the beautiful Araku region.
Coffee & Base Camp: First, a little warm-up hike through a fragrant coffee plantation – the smell is just divine! Then, we’ll reach our base point, enjoy a tasty Veg Biryani for lunch, and take a short breather.
The Main Ascent: Time to hit the trail! We'll hike about 6km up to our campsite for the night. It’s a lovely spot, tucked away in what we call the "valley of streams."
Evening Feels: Let’s set up our tents (we’ll share them, 3 people to a tent, mens and women get separate ). You can wander around, explore our vast camp area, or even take a refreshing dip in the little pool next to our campsite!
Campfire & Stars: As the sun dips, if the weather gods are kind and we find enough firewood, we’ll get a campfire going. Dinner will be simple but delicious – Chapatis with Vegetable Curry – shared under a canopy of stars, with plenty of stories and laughter.
Day 2: Reaching the Top
Good Morning, Mountains! Wake up to the fresh mountain air. We’ll have breakfast together – maybe some Multi-grain Bread with Peanut Butter or Maggie.
Summit Push: Let's go for the peak! We’ll hike up to the summit of Galikonda. Once there, we’ll take a good 30 minutes just to breathe it all in – those incredible views are worth every step!
Downward Trail: Time to head back down to our base point, full of achievement.
One Last Meal: We’ll have a good Veg Meal for lunch and then start our journey back to Vizag.
Chai Stop & Farewell: A quick tea break on the way, and then it’s back to the city, hopefully with tired legs but very happy hearts!

How tough is this Galikonda trek, really? We like to call it "moderate" with a dash of adventure! The path is mostly gradual, but because it's not a marked trail and we cross a few valleys, it feels like a good, satisfying challenge. If you do some regular walking or have a bit of fitness, you'll enjoy it! If you're unsure, just give us a call!
-
Tell me about the camping – what’s it like?We camp in a really beautiful spot near water stream. We’ll provide tents that you’ll share with two other trekkers (don’t worry, separate tents for guys and girls ). You’ll also get a comfy trekking mattress. Just bring your own blanket or sleeping bag. For nature’s calls, we found few private "blindspot" areas.
-
The trail is "not marked" – is that okay for someone like me?That’s where the adventure comes in, and also where we come in! While it means it's not a paved path, it also means we get to explore places away from the crowds. Our guides are experts in these hills, with 8 years of experience here. We know these trails, and we always have certified Wilderness First Responders with us. We keep the groups small so we can all look out for each other.
-
Can I drive my own car?You sure can! You can either drive your own vehicle right to the base village, or you can meet us at our spot in Vizag and follow our 9-seater Thavera or 12 Seater vehicle.
-
How many people will be on the trek with me?We like to keep things personal and friendly, so we host tiny groups – usually just 8 to 12 people. This way, everyone gets to connect, and it’s a safer and happier experience for all.
